Around 1870, Jan Timmermans from Beeselstroop started producing for sale.
The production was entirely traditional, using a hand press and oak barrels.

At a certain point, so much syrup was sold that Jan Timmermans could no longer handle the production on his own.
A family business was born. In 1969, the private limited company Timson was founded, after which the family business started using the name Timson B.V.
