In 1938, Ko van Strien took over a bread and pastry shop in Cilaarshoek, located in the beautiful Hoekse Waard, just south of Rotterdam.
He had learned the trade from his family in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, as a 6th generation baker with the name Van Strien.

We prefer to opt for quality: the cheese in the beloved Van Strien cheese butterfly is a real 12-month-matured North Holland Gouda PDO.
